SweTree’s poplar breeding program focuses on the selection of climate-adapted clones for Scandinavia and Baltic region. The aim of the breeding efforts is to obtain new clones with outstanding performance suitable for planting at 55-64 degrees northern latitude.
Our ambition is to increase biomass yield of poplars through by classical breeding. In 2012, we started the evaluation of 13000 new progenies in cooperation with Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
